Hi! My name is Luca Pfeiffer and I am a wildlife, event, portrait, and sports photographer/videographer based in Richmond and Virginia Beach, Va. I am currently a student at the University of Virginia majoring in Global Sustainability and minoring in Politics and plan to graduate in the Spring of 2023. I photographed my first wedding in 2017 and have now had over 75 paid shoots. But more than anything, I love being out in nature photographing and filming wildlife!
Over the summer of 2021, I taught three photography workshops at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens; Everything about Wildlife Photography, Macro and Landscape Photography, and Intro to Digital Photography. In the summer of 2022, I interned as a photographer and videographer with the non-profit Discover Life in America in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. For the Fall of 2022, I was awarded a Minerva Research Grant from the University of Virginia to purchase equipment to film a wildlife documentary in Charlottesville and have been busy filming footage throughout the semester!
My work has been featured in the Virginia Wildlife Magazine, the Virginian Pilot, the Biltmore Beacon, the Cavalier Daily, and more. After graduation, I hope to pursue a career in environmental media production to help make nature more accessible to a wider community and further important conservation efforts.
Beyond photography and videography, my greatest passion is music! I play jazz piano, create patches and sequences on my Korg synthesizer, and produce my own work. You can check out my most recent album "1705.NEF" on all major streaming services.
